PHIP offers two dental plans: Delta Dental of Oregon and Kaiser Permanente.
The PHIP dental plan is only available if you are enrolled in a PHIP medical plan. Enrollment in a PHIP dental plan must be made under the same enrollment conditions as the PHIP medical plan. If anyone in your family chooses dental coverage, everyone who is enrolled in a PHIP medical plan also must be enrolled in a PHIP dental plan.
Dependents must enroll in the same dental plan as the retiree. You can enroll in either dental plan regardless of your medical plan selection. For Kaiser Permanente dental, you must reside in the Kaiser Permanente dental plan service area.
There may be a 12-month waiting period for some services if you have not had 12 months of continuous dental coverage immediately preceding enrollment into a PHIP dental plan.

For those that need a little extra attention to their pearly whites, the Delta Dental plan offers extra benefits and additional preventative services to those that qualify.
For members who have a greater risk for oral diseases, we offer the Health through Oral Wellness® program. With this program, based on your risk score, you could qualify for additional cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and periodontal maintenance. Another program we offer is the Oral Health, Total Health program. This program includes additional cleanings throughout the year and is available to individuals that have been diagnosed with diabetes. For those with periodontal disease, you could be eligible for up to four periodontal maintenance cleanings per year.
The Delta Dental plan also includes the Passport Dental program so that no matter where in the world you roam, you are able to access great dental care when you need it.
With the Delta Dental of Oregon plan, there is a lot of flexibility. You can live anywhere in the United States, including the U.S. territories, and be enrolled on this plan.

For added convenience, you can also take advantage of our no-cost virtual dentistry options, including email, phone visits, and video visits. You must reside in the Kaiser Permanente service area to enroll in Kaiser Permanente dental coverage.
Charges for your preventative services do not apply to the calendar year benefit maximum.
