New Enrollment/Open Enrollment Presentations

PHIP has excellent medical, pharmacy and dental plan benefits that meet the needs of both Medicare and non-Medicare eligible members. The pharmacy plan for Medicare members is a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.

PHIP has scheduled New Enrollment Presentations throughout the year for those PERS members who are considering retirement within 90 days or who are already retired and will be turning 65 years of age within the next 12 months. You can choose to attend either in-person or via online webinar.

Beginning with the August 25th New Enrollment presentation, PHIP will also provide information about the upcoming Open Enrollment period, which runs from October 1 to November 15.

What is Open Enrollment?

This is an opportunity for eligible retirees, their spouses and dependents to enroll in PHIP even if they previously decided against participating in the program. Additionally, it allows eligible retirees who previously left PHIP to rejoin the program.

Members who sign up during the special Open Enrollment period will have their coverage start on January 1, 2027.

This is a special, one-time open enrollment opportunity for the 2027 plan year. If you do not enroll during this period, you will not be able to enroll later unless you experience a qualifying enrollment opportunity. Members must still meet eligibility requirements under OAR 459-035-0020.
